Electric vehicles are forming a better alternative to the gasoline run cars. Not just less pollution but many other benefits exist over the electric vehicle use that is powered by electric motor. The efficiency as most individual worry is not affected due to use of different power source.
Some advantages seen are:
- High efficiency – Only 20% energy from gasoline is converted to useable form when internal combustion engine is considered. Conversely 75% of the chemical energy is turned to power when batteries are used.
- Eco-friendly – The pollutants are not released when electric vehicles are utilized. The power plant involved in producing such cars may emit tailpipe pollutants. Energy used from wind, solar, hydro and bio sources do not cause pollution as compared to fossil fuels.
- Performance – Overall benefits of electric motors is higher as compared to the regular cars in sound, quality and acceleration mode.
- Dependence of energy is lowered when domestic energy is used.
- Longevity – The recharge rate is 100-200 miles per recharge. This is a bit lesser than gasoline vehicles, but other benefits make this claim pointless.
- Recharging – The battery may fully recharge in a period of 4-8 hours. The 80% potential could be back with a recharge of 30 minutes.
- Weight – Heavy batteries and large vehicle space usage put the vehicle in mode that stands apart.
- Cost – Cost of the battery pack is higher than the regular repairs of your gasoline automobile. There are chances it may need replacement, it can weigh on your pocket.
With more research on the renewable source of energy generation some drawbacks will be eliminated completely. The lowered cost and high output will improve the usability of electric vehicles. The future of such technology will be determined only with tweaks in the recharge time, driving potential, weight and cost cut offs.
